It’s taken me a while but I finally decided to open my Etsy shop – I know, in no way shape or form is it a good shop. My product photography is terrible as I don’t get great lighting in my flat, however, I just wanted to bite the bullet and jump.
It’s hard, when talking about your own work, to be positive. I am not a great artist and can’t draw hands to save which, of course, doesn’t stop me! At some point I’ll get better at it. Drawing movie characters is a life long ‘passion’, I used to do it when I was a kid and it’s how I learnt to draw faces. I love drawing realistic faces but I will always fall back to more cartoony doodles because it’s way more fun to interpret the characters myself, rather than trying to copy something exactly how it looks!
I’m sure I’ll re-make the cards I have for sale at some point as the printing job isn’t the best, however, for now I just wanted to be brave!
I have so many more pictures to turn into cards so I’ll be adding to the shop at some point in the next month or so.
Part of my New Years resolution was to try to be more creative for fun – drawing is something I’ve always loved to do and I always have projects I want to do. Hopefully, with this hurdle finally jumped, I’ll feel more confident in moving other things along. I’m also open to commission projects, which I’ve noted on my shop, so if you ever want something done in my ‘style’ [can you call it a style? I don’t know!] just let me know!
Do you have an Etsy shop? I’d love you to link yours in the comments so I can check out what you’re selling!
