Guys, I can’t even explain how many times I’ve watched Bring It On. I’m not kidding. I saw it in the cinema when it came out and then I bought the DVD and watched it everyday for at least a month… and then many times since. I think, at one point, I could quote every line, do every cheer, do the splits… no, sorry, not that last one. I still can’t do the splits even though I’ve been trying for years.
I digress.
Despite this coming out 16 years ago (What the veritable flip?) I still quote it on the regular. Mostly when I’m opening the car door…
“I got the door, Torr! I got the door, Torr!”
I could watch this again right now, thinking about it. Great soundtrack as well, but not the actual OST. The music in the movie is, in large part, not really represented on the album. It doesn’t even have the final nationals cheer music for sobbing out loud!! [I hope you know what I did there].
I won’t go into the sequels because they put the “duh” in dumb all except Bring It On; In it to Win it. Any film where the two opposing teams both have a cheer dance battle and then join forces with the genius merger name of The Shets (that’s Sharks and Jets) is perfectly cheesy in every way. All the others? Well the words “big” and “britches” come to mind.
