Let me introduce… myself.

Don’t forget Juno, too!

Hi gang!

I’m currently enrolled on bloggers 101; a course run by WordPress to give helpful hints and tips on how to make a blog better. Today’s assignment is to introduce ourselves… now, the first thing I want to say is I have no desire to make this blog super successful but I do want to engage with readers and write content that people like so, without further ado, I introduce… myself.

My name is Sam [I handily write this at the end of each post and if you look to the right you’ll see a big picture of my face and a little blurb], and I’m an addi… no. Sorry; wrong platform.

I do already have an ‘about me’ section at the tippy-top of this page on the right. If you click it you’ll go to a fuller description of me and I have to say; it’s still pretty accurate.

I started this blog last year because I wanted to start writing more ‘article’ type things. I have always wanted to get published by writing for websites (and books, but more on that in a second) and I did get something up on Your Zen Life a while back which spurred me on to keep going, however, after a while I realised that I was much happier just writing for myself and so PRETTY THOUGHTFUL was born.

The name; sounds like I’m calling myself pretty but I’m just a big fan of using it as an adverb so there you go. I’m pretty thoughtful. However, that’s not to say there are times when it seems like I’ve put no thought into anything at all.. at least that’s what people tell me in the office I work in… I guess I should drop it in that I’m pretty terrible when it comes to bad jokes. I love them. Someone has to.

So; about me. I work in an office, which I have done for almost 9 years now; bore! But [and I hate starting a sentence with a ‘but’, but what can you do?] it’s given me enough cash to go travelling, do a million courses in things I wanted to learn about and it paid for my Uni Degree [Engligh Lit and Language] so I can’t grumble too much.

The thing is I have now finished said degree so I’m looking to move into something I really want to do; writing. I dream of being a paid fiction writer and I have several books I’m working on [actually seven to be precise], one of which has just been finished and I’m going to look for an agent later this month/year – so stick around if that interests you. I am also, in the meantime, looking for a job that might get me in the door like copy editing, proof reading and the like. I’m 30 so I am feeling the pressure to get off my butt and really try. [I wasn’t one of those people who knew what they wanted to do when they left school so I didn’t do anything].

I hope that I’ve successfully introduced myself. There’s nothing much more I can say to make you stay or leave so hopefully see you in the comments!

Sam [there’s that name again!]
