Communication is vital in our day to day lives; we’ve become professionals at keeping in touch, being everywhere at once, absorbing the world through phones and the internet. I don’t know about you but I find it can sometimes be stressful.
I wake up and the first thing I do, out of habit, is check Instagram just to see the things I may have missed. Crazy isn’t it?
It’s easy to develop a little bit of an addiction to the internet which is why I’ve recently been stepping away from it every now and then; unplugging.
Taking a long walk with my puppy, going for a run, reading; these are just a few examples of the ways I’ve been spending my time instead and, I have to say, it feels great.
It sounds so simple but turning off your phone and computer, even just for one day, can have beneficial effects to your health both physically and mentally.
My advice to you is to give it a whirl. There’s a pretty cool world out there, beyond the screen.
Sam
